ABOUT THE RESTORATION CLUB
The North East Restoration Club is a club and registered charity (Charity No. 1181786) owned and ran by members for restoration of classic vehicles
The Club was established in 1971 and has both long-term (5 Year) and short-term bays for vehicle restoration in the workshop in Washington, Tyne & Wear.
The North East Restoration Club is dedicated to preserving and maintaining historical vehicles, from pre-war classics to modern classics. Our mission is to ensure that these remarkable vehicles remain on the road for generations to come, while also fostering a community of skilled restorers and automotive enthusiasts.
At the heart of our club are our well-equipped workshops, where members come together to restore, maintain, and celebrate classic vehicles. We offer a collaborative environment where members can learn and share invaluable skills, many of which are becoming increasingly rare. These skills, from mechanical restoration to bodywork and upholstery, are passed down through hands-on experience and expert guidance, ensuring that knowledge is not lost to time.
In addition to our restoration efforts, we run a series of social events designed to engage both our members and the public. Our open days, for example, offer visitors the unique opportunity to see restoration work in progress, as well as live demonstrations of restoration techniques. These events provide a platform to raise awareness of the importance of preserving automotive history, while also creating a space for social interaction and community building.
Through our activities, we aim to inspire a new generation of restorers and enthusiasts, while also fostering a sense of pride in preserving the rich automotive heritage that has shaped our culture.
